New in the bookshelf!

1

Got myself a new book this weekend. I have seen this one circulate on internet and on Goodreads and when I saw it in the bookstore I thought that maybe I should read it. It feels like a book that will be an classic that everyone should read. When I will be able to read this one however, I don´t know. It just have to stand in line and its turn will come eventually. 🙂

Have your read The underground railroad? What did you think about it?

Summer read top 20

So earlier this year Goodreads had an post about recommendations on what to read this summer. Since it wasn’t a lot interesting for me I decided to do my own top 20 books that I wanted to read before September started. Well September is here and it is time for an summery.

Out of 20 books I read: 13 books.

Average rating: 3,7 stars.

The books with highest ratings (4-5) are:
Rock Chick Reckoning – Kristen Ashley 5/5
Mark – Jessica Gadziala  5/5
Sinister – Jana DeLeon 5/5
Double Dare – R.L. Mathewson 4/5
The King of Plagues – Jonathan Maberry 4/5

Odd Hours – Dean Koontz 2/5
The Rosie Effect – Graeme Simsion   2/5

Best book: Sinister – Jana DeLeon

Worst book: Odd Hours – Dean Koontz 2/5

Best cover: Odd Hours – Dean Koontz 2/5

Worst cover: Double Dare – R.L. Mathewson 4/5

The books I did not read:
A Sudden Crush – Camilla Isley
Run To Ground – Katie Ruggle
The Knowing – Ninie Hammon
The Crawling Darkness – J.L Bryan
Extreme Honor – Piper J. Drake
The Hating Game – Sally Thorne
The Thing About Love – Julie James

A few words: The months go by way to fast and I have not been that attentive to my list that I made in May. During the three months I read 44 books and just 13 of them was from the list. But oh well. That is how it can go sometimes. Not gonna make me read something i´m not feeling ready for and I still think I did it pretty good. 4 of the 7 books I have left to read, I actually don´t have. I banned myself from buying books this summer. O well I tried, still bought a “few” books. But I could hardly read books i didn’t have. Still want to read them tho.

I gave three books a full 5 star review. Not surprising that Jessica Gadziala was there. Odd Hours and Rosie effect was the two books with the lowest score. Really surprised me that i did not like Rosie effect and it made me kind of sad.

Overall I´m happy with the outcome of the list and now ready to start tackling the next list. 30 books before 30. And soon we will go in darker times and I will probably do an short winter list.

img_0593
Today it is exactly one year until I’m turning 30 years old. :O Soooo! I have made myself an list with 30 books i want to read before turning 30. There where 3 reasons for a book to end up on the list and those reasons are, 1. Been in my library to long (we are talking years), 2. Books I feel for one or another reason i need to read, 3. I want to read it but never get my self to do it.

So here is my list with 30 books I want to read. In one year from today we will see if I really read all 30 books or not. I´m not gonna make myself read something I don´t want to read or are yet not ready for, but I hope it will help me read some of the stuff that have been in my “to read” list a little to long.

When you try to brake an pattern!

So you know that feeling when you have read a genre a little to long that the books are starting to float together and the story lines starting to feel the same to you? Well, yesterday when I was done with the latest book (Blind fury by Gwen Hernandez) I felt kind of sick on romance. Now i needed something new. So i decided to go with a book I have had in my electronic library for ages. An science fiction with aliens. That felt just perfect for me. But after just two chapters in the story i started to feel that maybe this is not as clean, cut and dry science fiction book that i first thought. So i looked little closer on the books description on Goodreads, and lo and behold, it is an Romantic science fiction. Bwahahah 😀

Oh well, cant stop reading it now.

I´m trying again.

I love books! There is nothing (material) i love more than books. As long as I have my kindle, i don´t have to have a phone, tv or even internet. *hear the chocked whispers going through the crowds* But yeah it´s true. So even if I already have tried this book blog think i keep thinking that i want to do it again. This time on English. Because yeah, if you haven’t realized it yet, English is not my native langues and as keeping up a blog is not already hard enough, i now have decided to do it on English to. Yeah because that is me. 😛 Never gonna do anything simple.
