Mid Year Book Freak OUT! tag 2019

I’m not a Booktuber but I do watch a lot of them. So I thought, for the first time, I would do one of those tags. And here you have it. My mid year book freak out.

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2019.
The Kind worth Killing is probably the best one I have read so far this year. I loved the way it is written, the plot, story and everything about it.

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2019.
Oh how to choose? Well it have to be Us against you by Fredrik Backman. I loved that one.

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to.
Sorcery of thorns by Margaret Rogerson. With its release now in June and the unknown to me author, is certainly one I have high on my want to read list.

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
The institute by Stephen King has it’s release in September this year and those lucky few who got there hands on an ARC says it is one great book. I can’t hardly wait.

5. Biggest disappointment.
I have to books I could use to answer this question but finally went with Throne of glass by Sarah J Maas. I loved, loved, loved her Court of thorns series and was certainly expecting more. I was so disappointed that I didn’t like the first book in the Throne of glass series. I’m not even certain I will continue it.

6. Biggest surprise.
Through the fire by Katie Ruggle. The fourth and last book in the Rocky Mountain K9 Unit series. The three first books didnt land well with me but this one took me by total surprise and knocked me flat on my ass.

7. Favorite new author. (Debut or new to you)
I haven’t read enough by new authors to call a favorite, but if I should choose one of them It has to bee Taylor Jenkins Read. Only read one book by her, but really liked it and her writing. Can absolutely see her become one of my favorites.

8. Newest fictional crush.
Wes from the Rocky Mountain series written Katie Ruggle. Hands down! I have such a huge crush on that character that I almost feel little guilty against my hubby who I have been with for the last 11 years. haha

9. Newest favorite character.
Mia Corvere from the Nevernight series. Only read one book so far but I find her really cool and would love to read more.

10. Book that made you cry.
Us against you by Fredrik Backman. I really tried to choose one book per question but had to use this book twice. It is that great and yes, it certainly made me cry to.

11. Book that made you happy.
Sizzle by Julie Garwood both made me laugh and happy because it gave me just what I needed and expected. It was also a little new comparing to what I read from her before so it was fresh and left you with a feel good emotion.

12. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received).
The priory of the orange tree. It fit the book so completely and was even more beautiful when connecting it to the plot. Unfortunately the blue foil letters disappeared by use of hands, but still beautiful.

13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
Oh that is so many but my top five is

To Be Read – July

Due to to big move and renovation of our new house, I do not count on getting that much reading in as I would like. I’m not even sure I will be able to listen on some audio books. So for July I have only picked four books, all in my kindle, since my physical books are in boxes. Here is what I have.

july.JPG

Rhythm, chord & Malykhin by Zapata. She is one of my absolute favorite authors and I always saves her books and reads them when I need it the most. For an example when I’m sick, depressed or now in July, probably very, very stressed.

Whiskey and Gunpowder by Hart, the sixth book in the series about Addison Holmes. I need to read it to know if the series is finished or not. I don’t know if I want to know the answer though.

Escape from the green by Gadziala. She usually don’t write fantasy but her first book “The Green” totally knocked me flat on my ass and I have been saving this one for the perfect time. Lets see if July is the time.

Next of kin by Sala. I feel that I probably will need some old time fashion romantic suspense and hope that this one will bring that to the table. 😀

What are you planing on reading in the month of July?

To Be Read – June

I’m really excited for my June To Be Read list. I have some good books here which I have high expectations for. Hopefully not to high. Three books that are continuing in series I follow and three books who are stand alone. The genres are a large mix between humor, contemporary, romance, chick lit, fiction, mystery, New adult, horror, thriller, sci-fi, and suspense.

Liane Moriarty is a name I have seen circulating in the bookish community the last few years and this one “The Husband’s Secret” is the one I feel I want to use to introduce Moriarty to me.

The Risk by Elle Kennedy is the second book in Briar U series. I usually love Kennedys books so I do not expect anything less.

The Promise by R.L Mathewson is the tenth book in her Neighbor from hell series. I love her books but lately they have been somewhat “flat”. I hope “The promise” will bring the honor back.

Luna and the Lie. Don’t know much about it more than I love Zapatas books and I don’t even have to read the Synopsis to know I want to read her work.

Code Zero. The sixth book in the Joe Ledger series and staring my bookish boyfriend. He has finally found some happiness and I do hope Maberry didn’t throw in another curveball.

The Breakdown. A book I have had on my bookshelf for far to long now. I feel it will be an angst filled book but I did bought it so once in a time I did want to read it. Now is the time

To Be Read – May

I had six books on my TBR list for the month of May. Not including the one book from my book club and I’m so excited. I already started Death Note and Hollow City and I have already finished Blindsided. I’m on a roll right now. 😀

Death note: One of the horror, graphic novels I have really looking forward to. I have the black edition 1, which include vol 1 and 2 in one book, and it is beautiful.

Hollow city, the second book in the Miss Peregrine’s peculiar children series. It is time to continue the series since I have this one and the third one on my bookshelf. I have high hopes. I do hope not to high.

The Fiery Cross, the fifth book in the Outlander series. After the fourth book I’m not that excited to continue the series, but will give it a try. Maybe.

Sugar, the 12th book in the Henchmen MC series. I love these guys.

Through the fire, fourth book in the rocky mountain K9 unit. This series has been quite up and down for me, but this is the last one and it is time to close this series.

Blindsided, last book in the Titanium security series. I have wanted to read this one for long time, but never got to it. It is the last book in the series and I was so excited so I started and ended it the first day of May.

BOOKS I DNF’ed!

18966819Golden son – Pierce Brown
Pages: 430 Published: 2015
Genres: Science fiction, fantasy, young adult, dystopia
Book 2 in The Red rising series.
I read the first book and it was okay. You can read that review here. But after several hours with the second one I just have to be hones to myself that this is nothing for me. It is just to much Young Adult, dystopian for my taste. It doesn’t work.
